Winning hearts and minds: Change Management and Implementation is all about winning hearts and minds for the change effort – which could be the implementation of a major piece of software, a new policy or direction, or a change in organizational structure. PBI's work with clients can often be described as helping them on their journey – from "Good to Great" or "dysfunction to good," but always from the "current state to the desired state." We help organizations identify the "change levers" that maximize the driving forces already in place and minimize the resistance forces. It's all about trust: There are some "change levers" that have proven to be successful in implementing and sustaining long-term change. None of them, however, can come close to the power of trust. Distrust or the absence of trust is often a near guarantee of failure for this implementation. As depicted on the PBI home page, we believe that:
Your people must know that you have the organization's, customers', and their "best interests at heart." They must believe you are sincere and that your support for the change will be active and visible, and that the change will be fully resourced. When people find a WIIFM (What's In It For Me?), they'll usually buy-in and get onboard. Leaders must be able to articulate how the change will affect them before this can happen. Did you know that multiple studies have found that 70% of major change initiatives fail? It's not rocket science why. Your people know. Lack of trust is #1. We can help you leverage the "enablers" and minimize the "resistance" issues to be among the 30% that succeed (implementation and sustainment). Contact us by phone: (703) 897-0724 or by email. |
