Organizational Performance

Our Performance Management page stated that your people are your organization’s greatest resource (the reputation is your greatest asset). The Federal Government uses the term Human Capital for all its’ people management activities (hiring, orienting, developing, and managing performance). On our High Performance Organization framework, the three puzzle pieces on the right (Leadership & Management, Employee Commitment, and Employee Competence) describe the positive outcomes of our Human Capital Services.

PBI offers Training, Organizational Development Consulting, and Executive/Leadership/Management Coaching to help improve organizational, team, and/or individual performance. The NAICS codes below apply for Federal Government customers:

611430 – Professional and Management Development Training
541611 – Administrative Management and General Management Consulting Services

Human Capital Training Workshops:

Typically offered in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic region, these are packed with great content and packaged for easy digestion. As well they are interactive, contextual (we work on your issues, not some case study), applied (you leave every PBI training event with an action plan), and engage peer learning and networking.

Organizational Development and Human Capital Consulting:

These are typically 3 – 6 sessions over a period of several months to effectively plan and implement strategic direction or change management activities. Often they result from an individual “getting the spark” after participating in one of the above workshops.

Team Building: We do not do “rah rah.” Our team building events are driven by groups that are ready and willing, but not able to become more of a team. We define specific Team Behaviors and Team Results that you want “more of” and/or “better of”. We then produce something together that your team needs/will use … and from that comes more collaboration, trust, and TEAM.

Visions/Strategic Plans: PBI facilitates outcome-based, measurable, and compelling "pictures of the future" from which strategic and budgeting decisions can be made with confidence.

Core Values: PBI facilitates clear, specific statements of the desired social and behavioral norms and an implementation/sustainment plan for making them part of daily life and driving the organizational culture.

Leading Change through Strategic Communications: PBI facilitates change management and communication plans that incorporate leveraging the "enablers," minimizing the "resistors," and creating a Core Message for manager/small group meetings and formal communications.

Performance Diagnosis and Consulting: PBI uses a proven framework to assess, diagnose, and address workforce, team, or individual performance problems using various training (knowledge and skill) and non-training (selection and assignment; work environment; motivation and incentives; policy and procedures) approaches. It is POWERFUL and it works!

Writing: PBI facilitates the development of internal writing standards, procedures, and style guides. We also provide plain-language writing and editorial services for your specific types of documents.

Executive, Leadership, and Managerial Coaching:

Coaching can be done individually or with small groups (“Learning Teams”). It is very personalized to define where the person/group is now, where they want to be, and to learn and use new strategies and skills to help them get there. In Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C., these are typically done in-person. For other regions they can be conducted by a combination of telephone and email.
