An
organization is made up of many components - all interdependent,
all interrelated. Every department or function relies on one another
to succeed.
A
High Performance Organization (HPO) means having all the elements
in place, and everyone working together to reach a common goal.
Unfortunately,
every organization will, at some point, experience a disconnect
between or within its departments, causing a rift in the flow of
a once effective organization. When this happens, an organization
will experience a degree of "pain." This pain often translates
into employee apathy, confusion, resistance, anxiety, or frustration.
Left untreated, this pain will eventually find its way to the bottom
line. There are many causes for corporate pains: one of the most
common causes is "change." Change takes many forms, such
as the arrival of a new CEO, implementation of a major initiative,
or a shift in the company's strategy. In general, organizations
do not manage change well. The flip side of pain is opportunity
gain. There are a number of actions that organizations can
take currently or in the future to position themselves to move from
good to great.
Managing change
effectively is our business, and doing it well is our trademark.
But there are other causes of corporate pain, some less obvious
than others, such as having the right people or the proper strategy
to achieve a vision. PBI starts an engagement by identifying the
root cause of the pain, analyzing all critical components of an
organization, then outlining a plan on how to put it back on the
high performance track.
How
do you become a HPO?By
addressing the three critical areas of an organization- your tools,
your processes, and your people.
